After Taune passed away we were sitting at home and the news began showing all of the stories about the Haiti earthquake. I remember seeing a woman holding her daughter who had died. She was wailing and distraught. I remember saying out loud as I wept with her, "I know exactly how you feel." It was the first moment in my life where I could truly empathize with a parent who had lost a child. It was at that moment that I felt I needed to do something for the people of Haiti. Later on that year Jim and I met Pastor Fleury from Haiti. We asked what we could do to help his people, and he said we need a mission built and a school. Jim and I went to Haiti for 21 days in November. It was an amazing journey and we built the mission. Pastor Fleury has asked us to return to Haiti this November for a revival and to help build the school. Jim and I fell in love with the Haitian people and hope to return this fall sometime. We will keep you posted!
